Diary Entry 1💋
I don’t know to love myself. I feel like im constantly jumping into relationships and every time, I lose a bit more of who I am. How do I stop relying on relationships to make me feel whole?
First of all, thank you so much for your submission and trust. It’s really brave of you to recognise this pattern and want to make a change. By doing that, you’re already demonstrating the self love you have for yourself. When we’re in relationships, it can be so easy to lose ourselves, you’re not alone in this. We become obsessed by the need to be loved and hold onto that love, sometimes at the expense of our own identity. When we’re afraid of losing love, we often lose touch with our independence and individuality instead, we start bending or compromising: holding back opinions, changing behaviours, or even cutting off parts of yourself to keep the peace. But here’s the truth: you are a whole, complete person outside of any relationship. A healthy relationship is made up of two people who come together while staying true to themselves. I know it can feel scary and overwhelming too actually spend time alone, fully single, when so used to being in a relationship but it’s important to nurture who you are and spend time alone. I promise you, the self love you feel when you truly know and respect yourself is wonderful! Take this time to explore, try and fail and try again: try new hobbies, go on solo dates, take trips by yourself, and surround yourself with people who love and uplift you. Start with the simple things, what are your favourite colours, foods, animals, or movies? Make a list or mind map of what truly makes you happy. The more time you spend discovering yourself, the more secure and joyful you’ll feel in your own company. This journey isn’t about perfection, it’s about learning to love the real, messy, amazing you. And when you feel grounded in who you are, you’ll find relationships where love is mutual, respectful, and true to your values. You’ve got this, you’re already on the right path💋
thankyou so much for your submission!xx
