the early 2000s yoga mum/instructor trend/aesthetic xxx
this trend/aesthetic grew to popularity in the early months of this year and although the trend seems to have died down abit now, i think we may see it raise again this spring. Due to it’s muted neutral colour palette and light breathable fabrics, this aesthetic could be your new go-to, here is our guide of everything you need to know, for creating your new wardrobe (sustainably) including plus size picks and links!!💋
1. InspirationÂ
inspiration is super important when looking to buy new outfits as it can help you narrow down exactly what colour palette, fabrics and silhouettes you are looking for!! good places to find inspiration are vintage magazines, early 2000s film/tv shows, pinterest and tiktok xx
2. shopping sustainablyÂ
we live in a world where trends are fast and ever-changing so it’s super important to shop as sustainably as we can to help combat landfills and clothing waste, plus it can be super cheap and most second-hand places are where you can find genuine vintage pieces. Places like Vinted, depop, eBay are great!! Vinted is my fav, the filters are very helpful and there aren’t any selling fees, if you’re looking to sell your own clothes to make room in your closet!! However, please note their sizing can be all over the place!! try using search terms like ‘vintage’ ‘y2k’ or ‘early 2000s’ after the brand name to help your search however some sellers us this as a way to overcharge, so knowing your budget is really helpful xxx
3. plus size picks and linksÂ
of course, as this trend is inspired and taken from the early 2000s, there wasn’t much diversity or inclusion for plus sizes. using the size and brands filters on Vinted I’ve managed to find some plus size pieces that fit the vibe, direct links will be at the bottom of the photo xx
