part 3 of our guide to curating your new season aesthetic: activities, hobbies and home decor xx
welcome back angels to the third and final part of our new series, curating your new season aesthetic!!🍂🤍 over the last two weeks, we've set the vibe with playlists, mood boards, and watch lists and refreshed our style with fashion and beauty inspo (catch up on part 1 and 2 here!xx) This week, we're diving into the cosiest part of a new season aesthetic: home decor, hobbies and activities!xx
1. Home Decor
Refreshing and decorating your space is such a fun and grounding way to fully embrace and romanticise the new season. Whether you want to go allll out and decorate every room, or just focus on one cosy corner or room, like your bedroom, it's totally up to you!! A good starting point, is to refer to your moodboard you created in part 1, to remind yourself of your inspo and desired vibe!! Here are some examples of how you could redecorate your space!
for your bedroom:
choosing a new autumnal bedding is a great start, think rich tones like a berry, burnt orange or a forest green or if you like a pattern, cute seasonal prints with leaves, woodland animals, and pumpkins are perfect!! Set the mood with soft lighting from warm yellow fairy lights or lamps. Candles are an essential for autumn, they are just the most perfect and cosiest decor. Choose your favourite comforting and cosy scent, whether that is apple pie, cinnamon, candied pecans or pumpkin spice. To make your bed the most warm and inviting place for the new cold season ahead, add extra blankets, fluffy pillows and even some seasonal jellycats or teddies!
in the bathroom:
for a super easy refresh for your bathroom, swap out your regular towels and bathmats for ones in warm, autumnal colours or patterns. You can even find a cute seasonal matching set with a soap dispenser and toothbrush holder! The best thing about these bathroom pieces is that they can be packed away and reused year after year!
in the kitchen:
the kitchen is another lovely spot to sprinkle some seasonal charm! One of the easiest ways to do this is by treating yourself to a Halloween or autumnal mug. It instantly makes your morning coffee, tea or drink feel that much more special and intentional. You can totally also add a cute tea towel, a mini pumpkin or two on your kitchen sides, and even a seasonal candle and an autumnal bouquet or plant on your windowsill. If you're into baking or cooking, displaying autumnal ingredients like apples, squash, or cinnamon sticks in a bowl or tray can double as decor and storage!
2. Activites
One of the best ways to really embrace the new season is by planning out some fun and festive things to do aka your autumn bucket list! Your list can be super simple, by just jotting it down in your notes app or a random piece of paper, or if you are creative and love crafts you could totally make a full-on autumn bucket list journal spread with washi tapes and stickers! It's such a relaxing and fun way to set your intention for the new season. For inspo, you can use your moodboard from part 1, browse Pinterest, look at your favourite autumnal movies or TV shows or you can use our autumn bucket list ideas below!:
- Make spooky pizza in shape of ghosts or pumpkins

3. Hobbies
Finally, let's talk all about the best hobbies for autumn!! Autumn has a way of naturally slowing everything down, so it's the perfect season to lean into hobbies that feel grounding, mindful and cosy. Whether you're picking something up for the first time or returning to a comforting favourite, this time of year practically invites you to spend less time on your phone and more time being present. Here are some hobby ideas that are especially perfect for autumn:
- Reading: witchy fantasy, dark academia or spooky romance!
- Crocheting or knitting: a scarf, blanket or even a mini pumpkin!
- Baking: cinnamon rolls, apple pie, pumpkin bread or even Taylor Swift's famous autumn chai cookies (here is a link xx)
- Watercolouring /painting or colouring
However you choose to spend this season, the most important thing is to slow down, romanticise the little moments, have fun and make space for whatever brings you joy this autumn!! I hope you have enjoyed this new series, happy autumn!!🍂🤍
